At the start of this week, the audio team were informed by Shannon, (Product Owner), that some changes had been made by the designers regaurding the gameplay. To explain the changes, we were provided a document describing all the changes. One of the major changes being made was in combat the player would have a spell book. Whenever the player used one of these spells they would have to play a small minigame similar to DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). During the minigame, the player would gain a buff on the chosen spell depending on how good they performed. We were then asked by Shannon to concider setting milestones for ourselves so we don’t fall behind.

We then begun writing up a assest list containing all the sounds needed for the game.

In this list, we including things such as combat sounds, player sounds and the music during combat phases. One of our main focusses on this list is how the music would sound during the minigame segments as well as how it would change depending on the area you are in. Once we had put our ideas into the list, we then discussed who would be responsible for certain sounds. I decided that i would take responsibility for ambient sounds/music and spellbook related sounds.

We then created a trello board so we could begin allocating tasks for the coming weeks.

With this Trello Board, we would be able to stay on track with our given tasks for the week.

This week, we were hoping to begin recording sounds such as screams on both campuses. However we had to postpone due to train strikes and we wanted as many people to take part as possible.

We also were informed that we need to begin sampling with sounds quickly so the other teams knew we were on track towards the overall goal. The designers had decided that they would be using Unity version 2021.3.8f1 which was important for us to know when it came time to begin implementing sounds using Wwise. Speaking of Wwise, it was vital to try and implement it as early as possible since people had struggled with it during their previous projects. Finally, we all joined the GitHub page which we would use to submit any changes once Wwise had been implemented.
